Transylvania's fortified Saxon churches

This 120‑page volume presents the breathtaking Saxon fortified churches of Transylvania, located in today’s Romania. Their foundations were laid in the 13th century, while their final defensive form—with towering stone walls—was developed during the 15th and 16th centuries. Built to protect entire Saxon village communities and their belongings, these structures offered refuge against Turkish and Tatar incursions as well as roaming armies. Three of these remarkable monuments are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, underscoring their historical and cultural significance in the region.

built heritage of the Benedictine Order

This exclusive publication presents the outstanding architectural heritage of the Benedictine Order in Hungary. The volume features four monasteries and two churches, each of significant aesthetic and historical value. A special highlight is the monastery that still serves as the center of the Hungarian Benedictines: founded more than a thousand years ago, in 966, by Prince Géza, it remains one of the most important symbols of Benedictine presence in Hungary. The book offers a captivating visual experience and rich cultural insight for anyone interested in Hungary’s ecclesiastical and historical heritage.
